Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment
Soroptimist International of St. Helena Sunrise was chartered in 1995. Since that time, the club has participated both locally and globally in programs to benefit women and girls.
Soroptimist International of the Americas’ major project is the Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award program. Our club determines the amount of financial support and resources we are able to give to local women who are in financial need, the head of their household and want to improve their skills or education.
Other Soroptimist projects we support at the local level are the Maggie Friedrich and Deanna Beaker Awards. These awards provide funds to a girl who is a bold and compassionate leader, like our member Maggie Friedrich, who we lost too soon and Deanna Beaker who was a high school student-soccer athlete.
